You'll always travel in style aboard an air-conditioned coach for all touring vacations. Aboard the coach, you'll be accompanied by an always-entertaining Contiki Tour Manager and Driver, ready to answer all of your questions from "Where's the bathroom" to "How do you say hello in Turkish"?

Accommodations

Traveling is action-packed, but we know sooner or later you're going to want to get some rest. On a Time Out tour, you'll relax in superior tourist class hotels, many in the center of major cities. Most tours include some exceptional properties like our City Club in Vienna - a 5 star resort, or Europe's highest hotel on Mount Pilatus, Lucerne. All rooms have private facilities and you can choose either single, twin-share, or triple-share. Hotel accommodations vary depending on the country you are visiting.

Please note that the hotels we use normally do not provide room service and porter service to carry luggage is not included. Your Tour Manager will advise you on the check-in and departure procedures for each hotel.

Telephones

Most hotels have direct-dial facilities, and if you telephone home, please pay your bill at the reception the night before departure. Hotel phone bills can be very expensive. We recommend that you use your Contiki eKit Phonecard to call home because you can call toll-free. Check with your Tour Manager to find out if the hotel allows 800 numbers to be dialed.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available at most hotels. However, the service normally takes one full day and is not normally available during weekends. It’s only possible to arrange laundry on two-night stops. It can be expensive so you might want to ask your Tour Manager if any alternatives are available.

Security

We strongly recommend that you use the hotel security boxes to store your valuables where available. You should, however, keep your passport with you, especially during the daytime.

Meals

Start your days off right with breakfast, on us! A traditional continental breakfast - coffee or tea, juice, rolls and croissants- is served mornings while on tour. In some places you can have a buffet and occasionally a fully cooked breakfast. At lunch, we give you the freedom to do your own thing. For dinner, you'll be our guest for about half your vacation with a buffet or three-course meal. In each country where we don't include the evening meal, we arrange special optional meals out to try the local cuisine. If notified at the time of booking, Contiki will do their best to meet any special dietary requirements.
