So get ready for an action-packed holiday with all the skiing & boarding you can handle in fantastic Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world! Not only is this sensational resort town surrounded by some of the most spectacular alpine scenery, it offers access to some of the best ski mountains NZ has to offer including Cardrona, The Remarkables, Coronet Peak & Treble Cone. Plus there’s a whole raft of adrenaline pumping, heart-stopping activities on offer, along with heaps of great bars, restaurants, cafes and nightclubs. Not forgetting the great shopping, scenic trips on Lake Wakatipu, sight-seeing flights to Milford Sound…the list goes on and on!

If you’re a beginner, intermediate or looking for some serious adrenaline, this trip is for all skiing & snowboarding levels. Plus we offer plenty of non-ski activities so you can pick and mix what you want to do day by day. You can even exchange your ski vouchers for heaps of awesome non-ski activities*! Our great non-ski ‘Optional Activities’ are designed to make this great holiday, extra-fantastic. Use your free time and choose from loads of adventure activities including jet boat safaris, bungy jumping, or whitewater rafting and heaps more.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Christchurch to Fox Glacier
Today, the group will meet early and travel from Christchurch to Fox Glacier, one of the world’s most accessible glaciers. The trip there is a great way to get to know your fellow travellers and Tour Manager. On our way to Fox Glacier we’ll travel across the Southern Alps and visit Arthur’s Pass and the coastal town of Hokitika. Then we’ll continue along the west coast through Westland National Park with amazing views of the glaciers and rainforests to the stunning Fox Glacier. (D)
Day 2: Fox Glacier to Queenstown
This morning, there’s the choice of some amazing optional activities, including hiking or heli-hiking the glacier before we head to Queenstown. Later in the day we head south through Haast Pass and the stunning Southern Alps until we reach Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand! Your Tour Manager will set the scene for the next few days ahead and you’ll enjoy an introduction to the mountains you’ll be skiing or boarding.
Over the coming days you’ll get the chance to check out the gorgeous township of Queenstown and all that it offers, from shops to cosy bars and pubs, to the amazing range of activities available – all set in the most stunning setting right on Lake Wakitipu, surrounded by rugged, snow capped mountains. Day 3: Queenstown
Get ready for 3 full days of skiing or snowboarding at your choice of 4 great mountains around Queenstown including Cardrona, The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, and Treble Cone. Your daily transfers to & from the mountain and Lift Tickets for these 3 days are all included! If you need to hire ski gear, Contiki can help with plenty of great packages available or you can hire when you arrive in town. Make sure you bring your own gloves, beanies & goggles though as these are not available for hire. Plus remember Queenstown caters for Contiki skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels from beginners to advanced. Then the night’s all yours to head out with your ski buddies and see what this great town has to offer! (B)
Day 4: Queenstown
The second day on the slopes! Why not explore a different mountain today, you can try Coronet Peak the oldest and most developed ski area, The Remarkables, the highest ski field in Queenstown, Treble Cone with exhilarating riding or Cardona where there’s something for everyone. Or if you want a break from skiing or snowboarding, you can exchange your lift tickets for another non-ski adventure activity like white water rafting, jet boating or bungy jumping!* After all that fun, tonight is free for you to hit the town again! Day 5: Queenstown
Another day to hit the slopes; and it’s going to be a big one!! If you’re legs are tired & you need a bit of a rest, you can spectate from the comfort of Heidi’s Hut. Or if you haven’t already, try out an awesome non-ski activity. Then tonight we’re off to dinner at the amazing Skyline Restaurant, accessed by riding a scenic gondola high up above the town. Skyline showcases breathtaking views of the mountains you’ve been skiing including Coronet Peak & The Remarkables. (B, D)
Day 6 Queenstown at Leisure
The final day in Queenstown is a free day. You can test yourself on the mountain again, or you can hang up the skis and enjoy one of the many activities available. This evening the fun will continue at the ‘official’ Awards Ceremony dinner, where there’ll be awards for not only the best skiers, but most improved, most embarrassing moment, the craziest skier… and the list continues! Day 7: Queenstown to Christchurch
This morning we pack up our skis & boards and make our way back to Christchurch. On our way, we’ll stop off to check out the famous AJ Hackett bungy bridge; perhaps if you haven’t already, you can put your fear to the limit and take the jump! We’ll also pass through the glacial lakes, Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo as well as Mt Cook before we reach our final stop. It’s time to swap email addresses with your new found friends before the tour wraps up in Christchurch. Note – please do not book your flight before 6pm. (B)
