BOSTON - OGUNQUIT - KENNEBUNKPORT. Your morning tour of Boston highlights the historic sites near Boston Common, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church, and the Freedom Trail. Next, travel into Maine with a stop in charming Ogunquit, where there's time to stroll the beach or browse the unique shops and boutiques. Folks settling this area were bound to the sea, and even today the seafaring culture is still much in evidence. Arrive at Kennebunkport on the Maine shore, with time to explore the galleries of Dock Square. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a festive LOBSTER DINNER. (B,D)

KENNEBUNKPORT - PORTLAND - NORTH CONWAY. We continue along Maine's coast with a stop in picturesque Portland. An orientation tour highlights downtown, the Old Port, and the bustling waterfront area. Travel through Maine's lake region to New Hampshire and spend the evening in North Conway, northern New England's outdoor adventure capital in the heart of the White Mountains. (B,D)

NORTH CONWAY. Excursion to Wildcat Mountain. At Pinkham Notch, board the Wildcat Mountain GONDOLA for a thrilling ride to the 1,340-metre (4,397-foot) summit. Also, enjoy the RAVEN INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM focusing on the unique environs of northern New England and local wildlife. Later this afternoon, maybe do some shopping at New England's premier outlets. NORTH CONWAY - STOWE. This morning, visit a MAPLE SYRUP FARM to learn how maple syrup is produced and tastes. After a break in Montpelier, Vermont's capital, stop for a special lunch at the TRAPP FAMILY LODGE, which is owned and operated by the Trapp Family, who were made famous in The Sound of Music. Afterward, head to Stowe, a favourite mountain resort, for the evening. (B,L,D)

STOWE - LAKE PLACID. A wonderful treat in store this morning: a guided tour of BEN & JERRY'S Ice Cream Factory in the heart of the Green Mountains. Next, visit SHELBURNE HERITAGE PARK, a fascinating 45-acre outdoor museum depicting early New England life. Later this afternoon, continue into the Adirondacks and arrive in the village of Lake Placid, site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. (B)

LAKE PLACID - BERKSHIRE MOUNTAINS. A morning boat CRUISE on the lake takes in the serene and stunning beauty of the area. Then, enjoy a tour of the JOHN BROWN FARM and learn about this Underground Railroad conductor who moved here in an attempt to establish a community of freed slaves. This afternoon, continue to your overnight hotel nestled in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains in Pittsfield. (B)

BERKSHIRE MOUNTAINS. Excursion to Stockbridge. Travel through valleys of unspoiled New England villages to Stockbridge. Here, visit the NORMAN ROCKWELL STUDIO & MUSEUM, housing a large collection of works by one of America's favorite artists. Later, visit the HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE, a restored village consisting of 20 buildings including its famed 1826 Round Stone Barn. Learn about the Shaker's way of everyday life through interactive demonstrations and by visiting various historic dwellings. Here, enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by your Tour Director. (B,D)

NEW YORK CITY. A Local Guide takes you on a tour of the city's most famous sights: Times Square, Greenwich Village, the Financial District, and Chinatown. Then, take advantage of great photo opportunities as you CRUISE New York Harbour and around the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The afternoon is at leisure. During your free time in Manhattan, take advantage of our optional activities-perhaps a flightseeing trip, a visit to the Empire State Building, or a Broadway show.
