Tour Details - Paris Christmas

Meet up with your Contiki team in London before heading to the land of baguettes, cheese & escargot for a taste of how the French do Christmas. We travel via World War I battle fields in the Valley of the Somme, to Paris. On arrival get settled, then maybe head out to try some authentic French onion soup, escargot, salad Nicoise or foie gras & indulge in a typically French meal. Tonight we’ll take in the buzzing city vibes as you tour the city by coach, experiencing all the famous icons like the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower & see why Paris really is called the "City of Lights". Lamp-lit bridges and cool little cafés give us a real taste of Paris’ romance. Accommodations: Hotel

Learn about perfume & pick up some scents for yourself at Fragonard perfumery this morning, then the rest of the day is yours to take in the best of Paris.From people watching whilst sipping a café au lait & nibbling croissants, to the city’s museums, art & icons, there’s so much to see & this town is loaded with possibilities. Discover its many bistros, museums, tree-lined avenues and diverse quartiers (neighbourhoods).Get a feel for French flair by window shopping on the Left Bank, step into the Notre Dame cathedral or explore the endless galleries of the Louvre and get up close to the famous Mona Lisa. If you feel like relaxing, try indulging in some delicious pastries and relax in one of Paris’ many open spaces.Treat yourself to the full Parisian experience with a cabaret show, complete with can-can girls, dinner and Champagne. But don’t stop there – head out for a few pre-Christmas drinks, or ask your Tour Manager for some tips on where’s best to experience the cool pre-Christmas vibes.Note: For the 2011 departure of this tour the activities on days 2 and 3 are reversed.
