Day 1. Toronto
Arrive at Toronto International Airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2. CN Tower, Toronto Sights
Meet your fellow travellers at a Welcome Breakfast this morning. Join a city tour of Toronto, and roam this racy modern metropolis while visiting must-see attractions, including the CN Tower for incredible views.
Day 3. Niagara Falls
Travel to the thunderous Niagara Falls be humbled by the majestic beauty and power of one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. Experience the roar of the falls aboard the world-famous Maid of the Mist cruise for the thrill of a lifetime. Then, delight in the Art of Wine and Food interactive experience at Peller Estates on the Niagara Peninsula, where wine makers and chefs reveal the secret to pairing two of life’s greatest pleasures - wine and food.
Day 4. 1000 Islands, Ottawa
Cruise the beautiful 1000 Islands archipelago that straddles the Canadian-USA border. These islands dot the international waterways of Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence River. Then continue onwards to Canada’s capital city, Ottawa.
Day 5. Ottawa Sights
Discover Ottawa’s attractions, including Parliament Hill, Embassy Row, Rideau Canal and the ByWard Market. The Canadian capital also has a vast assortment of museums - ranging from the uber modern Museum of Civilisation to the intriguing Museum of Nature.
Day 6. Mont Tremblant
Travel through the Québec countryside to Mont Tremblant, the heart of the magnificent Laurentian mountain range. Be enchanted by this alpine paradise and the colourful rooftops of its pedestrian village. Settle in and explore this charming retreat at your leisure.
Day 7. Québec City
Continue to Québec City today, where Canada’s French heritage is evident throughout. Rich with historical treasures, this city dates back to 1608. As Canada’s second-oldest European settlement, it’s also North America’s only walled city.
Day 8. Québec City, Freedom of Choice Touring
This morning, join a guided city tour of Québec City for a deeper insight into the city’s rich history and culture. Later, join your selected activity. Embark on a guided walking tour to learn more about its stories and landmarks. Or sit back and enjoy a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the narrow cobbled streets of Old Town. You can also tour the World Heritage-listed Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, or explore charming inlets on a river cruise. The remainder of the day is yours to spend at leisure.
Day 9. Montréal
This morning, journey to Montréal and join a guided tour of the city’s highlights. Take in Nôtre Dame Cathedral, Old Montréal and Mount Royal as you roam this French-infused cosmopolitan city. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 10. Victoria
After breakfast, transfer to Montréal airport for your flight to Vancouver, the gateway to your Canadian Rockies adventure (flight not included when booking land only). Transfer by ferry across the Georgia Strait to Victoria.
Day 11. Vancouver Island, Butchart Gardens, Freedom of Choice Touring
This morning, visit the world-renowned Butchart Gardens for a unique breakfast in the gardens. Dine in the original Butchart family home, and then take your time exploring and learning about the floral displays. In the afternoon, you have your choice of seven touring activities in Victoria. The range includes an opportunity to watch whales breaching and interacting off Vancouver Island; a seaplane flight for a birds-eye view of the island and coastline; and a traditional afternoon tea at The Fairmont Empress Hotel.
Day 12. Georgia Strait, Whistler
Alternatively, journey by ferry back across the Georgia Strait to the mainland. Join your coach and enjoy incredible scenery on your way to Whistler. Stop at Shannon Falls, then experience one of the most spectacular drives in the world along the Sea to Sky Highway. This evening, explore Whistler’s lively and enchanting pedestrian village after dinner.
Day 13. Cariboo Region, Sun Peaks
Depart Whistler this morning, and follow the tracks of the early gold rush pioneers through the rugged Cariboo region, stretching across from the Pacific Ocean to the Cariboo Mountains. The region was discovered during the gold rush over 150 years ago, and is considered one of British Columbia’s most untouched areas. Many of the towns that developed during the gold rush have been preserved as heritage sites and tourist attractions.
Day 14. Mt Robson, Jasper National Park, Dine Around Dinner
Follow the famous Yellowhead Highway and pass Mt Robson which, at 3,954 metres, is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Arrive this afternoon at the fairytale mountain retreat of Jasper National Park.
Day 15. Icefields Parkway, Lake Louise, Dine Around Dinner
Today, journey along the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s great scenic drives, travelling along a chain of massive icefields straddling the Continental Divide. Stopping at the giant Columbia Icefield, take a ride in a specially-designed Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier. Enjoy the opportunity to stand on the glacial ice that once fell as snow some 400 years ago. Later, arrive at the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Louise, known as the Jewel of the Rockies.
Day 16. Moraine Lake, Banff National Park, Dine Around Dinner
This morning, take a stroll with Mountain Heritage Guides, who will describe the natural history and stories of the area and point out photographic opportunities. Later, visit Moraine Lake a glacially-fed lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. This afternoon, ride the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain and enjoy incredible views of six Rocky Mountain ranges.
Day 17. Banff Sights, Freedom of Choice Touring
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff before joining your selected activity.
Day 18. Rocky Mountaineer, Spiral Tunnels
Board the Rocky Mountaineer train and cross the Continental Divide. Sit back and relax while indulging in GoldLeaf Service.
Day 19. Kamloops, Vancouver
Rejoining the Rocky Mountaineer, continue the westward journey towards the Pacific Ocean. See the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate before entering the spectacular Fraser Canyon. The canyon overlooks a stretch of the Fraser River that descends rapidly through narrow rock gorges, and has become a highlight of the Rocky Mountaineer rail journey. You’ll view the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains and pass through the fertile fields of the Fraser Valley before arriving in Vancouver. Take advantage of a free evening tonight to discover the restaurants and nightlife of this exciting city.
Day 20. Vancouver Sights
Enjoy a tour of Vancouver before some time at leisure. Tonight enjoy a special Farewell Dinner.
