Day 1. Arrive Vancouver.
Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax in your hotel or explore Vancouver. Situated between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific, Vancouver is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. In 2010, the world’s best athletes converged on Vancouver for the Winter Olympic Games. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Reception.
Day 2. Vancouver Sightseeing.
This morning, enjoy a tour of Vancouver including sightseeing highlights such as the Waterfront, Gastown and Stanley Park. The remainder of the day is yours to explore all this wonderful city has to offer at leisure.
Day 3. Rocky Mountaineer, Kamloops.
After breakfast early this morning, board the Rocky Mountaineer train and relax in your RedLeaf carriage as you travel through the fields of Fraser Valley and the peaks of the picturesque Coast Mountains. Enter Fraser Canyon and see the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate. Then follow the Thompson River to the city of Kamloops.
Day 4. Rocky Mountaineer, Banff
Rejoining the Rocky Mountaineer, journey along the South Thompson River to beautiful Shuswap Lake. Enter Rogers Pass with its steep mountain in the heart of Glacier National Park. The Kicking Horse River then leads you to Kicking Horse Pass (a high mountain divide), the Spiral Tunnels and over the Continental Divide of the Canadian Rockies to Banff National Park. Enjoy this evening at leisure in Banff to dine and relax.
Day 5. Banff Sightseeing.
Today take a ride on the scenic Banff Gondola and enjoy incredible views of the Canadian Rockies. The rest of the day is at leisure to perhaps visit The Fairmont Banff Springs, or join a Banff Experience to learn about the township (own expense). Tonight, enjoy the entertaining Oh Canada Eh! Theatre Dinner Show.
Day 6. Banff, Lake Louise.
This morning travel to world-famous Lake Louise, in Banff National Park. On arrival, check into The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, which overlooks this breathtaking lake. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel.
Day 7. Columbia Icefield, Jasper National Park
Travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Stop at the Columbia Icefield for an unforgettable ride in an Ice Explorer onto Athabasca Glacier. Then travel past Sunwapta Pass and see glacier-fed Peyto Lake, with its azure waters like Lake Louise. Later, arrive in the peaceful community of Jasper.
Day 8. Mount Robson, Sun Peaks.
Re-enter British Columbia, and follow the famous Yellowhead Highway. Pass Mt Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. In the afternoon arrive in Sun Peaks and check into your lodge, before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant this evening.
Day 9. Whistler.
Today, depart Sun Peaks and travel through the rugged Caribou region. Then view the Coast Mountains before your stay in the famous alpine resort of Whistler. This evening, perhaps experience Whistler’s vibrant nightlife.
Day 10. Georgia Strait, Victoria.
From Whistler, you might like to take a floatplane flight (own expense) and witness incredible views of the Georgia Strait, before arriving in Victoria around midday. Then enjoy time at leisure to explore. Alternatively, return to the coast to board your ferry and cruise across Georgia Strait. Arrive on Vancouver Island and continue on to Victoria.
Day 11. Victoria Sightseeing.
This morning is yours to spend at leisure. Perhaps take a whale-watching cruise, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage tour or visit the Empress Hotel for an English morning tea (all at own expense). This afternoon, visit the historic Butchart Gardens and explore the exquisite floral displays that have been delighting visitors for over 100 years. Tonight, enjoy a Farewell Dinner in the gardens.
Day 12. Victoria, Vancouver, Holland America Line Cruise.
This morning, travel back to Vancouver before boarding your Holland America Line cruise ship later today. Settle into your stateroom and familiarise yourself with the ship’s excellent facilities as you sail north to the Inside Passage and the famously beautiful icefields of Alaska.
Day 13. Inside Passage.
Enjoy a day at sea on board your luxury cruise ship, as it wends its way past dramatic rocky headlands and over the still blue waters of the Inside Passage.
Day 14. Juneau.
This afternoon in Juneau, Alaska’s lovely capital, you might like to experience a dog sled ride over a glacier, perhaps sample salmon baked over a fire or, alternatively, pan for gold (all at own expense).
Day 15. Skagway.
Arrive in Skagway, at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Enjoy free time, or choose from a range of optional excursions (all at own expense).
Day 16. Glacier Bay.
View breathtaking Glacier Bay National Park. Today, rangers will come on board to explain features of this fascinating region.
Day 17. Ketchikan.
Visit Ketchikan, which is the salmon capital of the world. Enjoy free time to explore this fascinating town’s many attractions.
Day 18. Inside Passage.
Heading south through the Inside Passage, watch the majestic landscape slip by.
Day 19. Depart Vancouver.
Arrive in Vancouver and disembark after breakfast. Enjoy time at leisure before your airport transfer.
