After exploring world famous Canadian sights including Mt Robson and Lake Louise, arrive in Anchorage to commence your Alaskan odyssey. Discover the incredible landscapes and wildlife of Denali National Park; learn about Yukon history in Fairbanks and Dawson City; visit Ketchikan, the salmon capital of the world; then conclude your journey with an awe-inspiring cruise through the Inside Passage.
Day 1. Victoria
Upon arrival at Vancouver International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your coach. Board the ferry and cruise to Victoria. Tonight, join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for an informal Welcome Reception.
Day 2. Vancouver Island, Butchart Gardens, Freedom of Choice Touring
This morning visit the Butchart Gardens for breakfast and spend time exploring the displays. Later, choose your touring in Victoria. Select from a whale-watching trip, salmon fishing, seaplane flightseeing, an historic walking tour, a horse-drawn carriage tour, high tea at The Fairmont Empress or a guided tour of Victoria’s homes and gardens.
Day 3. Georgia Strait, Whistler
This morning return to the mainland and head to Whistler.
Day 4. Cariboo Region
Travel through the rugged Cariboo region to your accommodation in the wilderness.
Day 5. Banff National Park, Dine Around Dinner
Follow the South Thompson River to Shuswap Lake. Pass Kicking Horse River, cross the Continental Divide then arrive in Banff and dine at The Fairmont Banff Springs.
Day 6. Banff Sights, Freedom of Choice Touring
After a sightseeing tour of Banff, select your Freedom of Choice activity.
Day 7. Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Dine Around Dinner
Ride the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Visit Moraine Lake en route to Lake Louise, and join a local Mountain Heritage Guide for a nature walk.
Day 8. Icefields Parkway, Athabasca Glacier, Jasper, Dine Around Dinner
Journey along the Icefields Parkway, stopping at the Columbia Icefield for a ride onto the Athabasca Glacier. Arrive in Jasper National Park and enjoy a Dine Around Dinner tonight.
Day 9. Rocky Mountaineer Rail, Mt Robson
Board the Rocky Mountaineer train, enjoying GoldLeaf Service. Perhaps enjoy a dinner show in Kamloops tonight (own expense).
Day 10. Kamloops, Vancouver
Rejoining the Rocky Mountaineer, see Hell’s Gate before entering the Fraser Canyon. Arrive in Vancouver.
Day 11. Vancouver Sights
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver. Enjoy a special dinner tonight with fellow travellers.
Day 12. Flight to Anchorage
After breakfast, board your flight to Anchorage. (Own expense when booking land and cruise only).
Day 13. McKinley Explorer to Denali
Board the McKinley Explorer dome car for the journey to Denali National Park, a glaciated landscape supporting a diverse range of wildlife.
Day 14. Denali Sightseeing
Discover the Yukon on the extensive Tundra Wilderness Tour. Enjoy expert commentary, and if the weather co-operates, enjoy views of Mt McKinley.
Day 15. McKinley Explorer to Fairbanks
Board the McKinley Explorer bound for Fairbanks. The city is referred to as ‘The Golden Heart of Alaska’, named for the friendly locals, its location in Alaska’s interior and for the discovery of gold in 1902.
Day 16. Fairbanks, Tok
Tour the TransAlaska Pipeline and historic Gold Dredge No.8. Continue on the Alaska Highway to Tok.
Day 17. Yukon River Cruise, Dawson City
Travel to Eagle and board the Yukon Queen II for a cruise to Dawson City, site of the world’s greatest gold rush stampede late in the 1800s. On arrival check in to your accommodation in the heart of the Klondike National Historic Site.
Day 18. Dawson City at Leisure
The day is at leisure in Dawson City. A variety of optional excursions are available here or journey to Tombstone Territorial Park (own expense).
Day 19. Whitehorse
Experience the vast expanse of Yukon wilderness on the way to Whitehorse, capital of the Yukon. Tonight, enjoy the uproarious Frantic Follies Vaudeville Revue.
Day 20. Skagway
Board the historic White Pass and Yukon railway and travel to Lake Bennett for a guided tour. Reboard the train to Skagway.
Day 21. Holland America Line Cruise
Board your Holland America Line vessel for your Glacier Bay and Inside Passage cruise.
Day 22. Glacier Bay
Wake to the sight of Glacier Bay National Park, with its tidewater glaciers and snow-capped mountain ranges. Today, rangers come aboard to explain the geological wonders of Glacier Bay.
Day 23. Ketchikan
The salmon capital of the world, Ketchikan is the place to sample some
of tastiest salmon you’ll ever come across.
Day 24. Cruising the Inside Passage
Enjoy the scenery as the ship winds through the beautiful Inside Passage.
Day 25. Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver this morning and transfer to the airport.
