Day 1. Vladivostok
On arrival in Vladivostok be met and transferred to your hotel, before a Welcome Reception and dinner this evening.
Day 2. Vladivostok
A tour of Vladivostok today takes you to the city’s principal military attractions, including a restored submarine. Later, board your private train and settle in.
Day 3. Khabarovsk
During your first full day aboard the Golden Eagle, you’ll travel directly north of Seoul, Darwin and Osaka. Stop in Khabarovsk, and disembark for a guided city sightseeing tour.
Day 4. On Board
Today you’re able to spend the entire day at leisure on board. Sit back
and relax while you pass by the unique Russian landscapes as your train follows the Shilka and Amur rivers, close to the Chinese border.
Day 5. On Board
Once again, relax on board as your train travels through the beautiful landscape of Russia’s Far East.
Day 6. Ulaanbaatar
Today visit the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Pass the monument to Genghis Khan, undoubtedly the most feared and revered Mongol, and visit the national museum. Then enjoy lunch in a traditional Mongolian Ger (Yurt). Indulge in a Mongolian meal of local dishes and enjoy local entertainment. Then return to your train for dinner.
Day 7. Ulan Ude
Today arrive in Ulan Ude, here enjoy an exploration of the Old Believers Village, and learn about the culture and history of the local people. After a traditional meal, enjoy a concert before rejoining your train.
Day 8. Lake Baikal, Listvyanka
This morning absorb the grandeur of Lake Baikal, the world’s deepest freshwater lake. Weather permitting, stop and enjoy a BBQ lunch of smoked fish. Afterwards, visit Listvyanka, a nearby settlement.
Day 9. Irkutsk
Arrive in Irkutsk today, often referred to as the Paris of Siberia. On a tour, admire the distinctive wooden architecture and visit the Decembrist House museum. Enjoy a private concert before returning to your train.
Day 10. On Board
Today unwind on board your luxury private train. Perhaps learn a few words of Russian or sit back and absorb the ever-changing landscape.
Day 11. Novosibirsk
Today experience the rich culture of Novosibirsk. Disembark for a tour that includes the Opera House, an architectural marvel that houses two permanent ballet and opera companies and is one of the largest opera houses in the world. In front of the Opera House is an imposing statue of the famous Russian leader, Vladimir Lenin.
Day 12. Yekaterinburg
Today arrive in Yekaterinburg, Russia’s third largest city. Disembark for a tour that will take you to the site where Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, was executed with his family by the Bolsheviks in 1918. A church here is dedicated to their memory, this site provides a great insight into the Russian Revolution.
Day 13. Kazan
After breakfast, arrive in the historic city of Kazan on the Volga River. Here, a tour takes in the city’s major sights, including the World Heritage-listed Kremlin Fortress. Within the walls of this ancient citadel, explore the mosque and onion-domed cathedral.
Day 14. Moscow, Freedom of Choice Touring
After travelling over 10,500 kilometres, arrive in Moscow. Disembark your train this morning and transfer to your hotel. Then enjoy your Freedom of Choice Touring activity perhaps visit the Tretyakov Art Gallery or enjoy a guided city tour of Moscow’s iconic sights, tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner.
Day 15. Moscow
Today, perhaps spend time at the Kremlin or visit the Gum Store in Red Square.

After a morning at leisure transfer to your river ship. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Reception, before dinner on board.

Today a tour of Moscow takes you to Red Square, where you’ll enjoy views of St Basil’s Cathedral. After a lunch cruise, ride the Metro to Arbat Street, before visiting the world famous Moscow Circus this evening.
Day 20. Moscow Sightseeing
Today visit the Tretyakov Gallery, housing Russia’s largest collection of art, before taking a tour within the walls of the Moscow Kremlin.
Day 21. Moscow Canal - Volga River - Uglich
Dock in the Golden Ring city of Uglich and enjoy a guided tour. Then visit the home of a Russian family for a meal and a glimpse into the local culture.
Day 22. Volga River - Yaroslavl
Today you’ll stop in another Golden Ring city, Yaroslavl, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour.
Day 23. Goritsy - White Lake - Volga-Baltic Waterway
Dock in Goritsy, where a tour includes a visit to the Monastery of St Cyril on White Lake and its Museum of Icons.
Day 24. Lake Onega - Kizhi Island
Arrive on Kizhi Island, explore the open-air museum of wooden architecture and marvel at the Transfiguration Church.
Day 25. Svirstroy - Lake Ladoga
Today dock in Svirstroy. Disembark and enjoy free time to look around. Then re-board your ship and continue to Lake Ladoga.
Day 26. Neva River - St Petersburg Sightseeing
Dock in St Petersburg and take a Hovercraft ride to the Hermitage Museum located in the Winter Palace. Tonight, perhaps see a folklore show (own expense).
Day 27. St Petersburg, Peterhof Palace
This morning, take an exhilarating Hovercraft ride over the waters of the Neva River to Peterhof Palace, nestled on the shores of the Gulf of Finland. Tonight enjoy a spectacular ballet performance at the world famous Hermitage Theatre, which dates back to 1783, when Catherine the Great ordered its construction.
Day 28. St Petersburg, Catherine Palace
Your second day exploring St Petersburg begins with a tour of the breathtakingly lavish Catherine Palace and its grounds.
Day 29. Depart St Petersburg
After breakfast this morning you disembark your ship and transfer to the airport.
