Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Arrive Prague.
Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle in or start exploring. This evening gather for a Welcome Reception.

Day 2. Prague Sightseeing.
This morning take a walking tour of Prague’s Old Town. Visit the 1,000 year-old Hradcany Castle courtyard and St Vitus, then walk over Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner this evening.

Day 3. Prague at Leisure.
With today at leisure, perhaps further explore, or join an optional tour to Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic (own expense).

Day 4. Prague, Dresden, Berlin.
Today travel into Germany and on to Dresden. Visit the Castle of the Electors of Saxony, including the Saxon Wall and the Semper Opera House. Then continue to Berlin.

Day 5. Berlin Sightseeing.
Today begins with a trip to the visitor platform of Fernsehturm Berlin – the city’s television tower and Europe’s fourth tallest freestanding structure. Then a guided tour takes in the Reichstag building, Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin State Opera House, Alexanderplatz and a section of the ruined Berlin Wall.

Day 6. Berlin at Leisure.
Enjoy a day at leisure today to explore the sights of Berlin at your own pace.

Day 7. Berlin, Warsaw.
Leaving Berlin, travel by train across Northern Germany into Poland and on to the country’s capital, Warsaw. On arrival, check in to your hotel before dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8. Warsaw Sightseeing.
On a tour of Warsaw today, visit the site of the Jewish Ghetto and the Palace of Culture and Science, then head to Lazienki Park. See Lazienki Palace, set on an island on Lazienki Lake, as well as the Roman-inspired amphitheatre and the statue erected in honour of locally-born Frédéric Chopin. Later, take a trip to Wilanów Palace, a second home to many Polish kings.

Day 9. Warsaw, Krakow.
Today, travel to the city of Krakow. On the way, stop at Czestochowa. Visit Jasna Gora Monastery to see the Black Madonna, a holy icon of the Virgin Mary that is both Poland’s holiest relic and one of the country’s national symbols. In the afternoon, travel to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum for a tour, and learn of the plight of the Jews who were sent to the concentration camp. Continue to Krakow and settle in to your hotel.

Day 10. Krakow Sightseeing.
Embark on a tour of Krakow, including the cathedral and castle on Wawel Hill, St Mary’s Church and Cloth Hall. In the afternoon visit the impressive Wielickzka Salt Mine.

Day 11. Krakow, Budapest, Embark Ship.
This morning travel to Budapest, where you will board the MS AmaLegro and tonight enjoy the Captain’s Gala Welcome Dinner.

Day 12. Budapest Sightseeing.
Following breakfast, join a sightseeing tour of Budapest. Visit 500 year-old Matthias Church, the distinctive Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace and Buda Castle, where you have views of Buda and Pest.

Day 13. Bratislava.
Relax this morning as you cruise to Bratislava. On arrival, join a walking tour, taking in the key historic landmarks of the city. This evening, enjoy dinner and an evening music performance as you cruise to Vienna.

Day 14. Vienna.
A tour of Vienna today includes St Stephen’s Cathedral, Hofburg Imperial Palace, and more. Tonight, perhaps join us for an optional Mozart and Strauss concert (own expense).

Day 15. Durnstein, Melk.
This morning stop in Durnstein for a guided tour and a wine tasting. At lunch, continue to Melk for a tour of Melk Abbey.

Day 16. Linz, Passau.
Cruise from Linz to Passau. Here, you will disembark for a tour of this historic city. Alternatively, you can choose to join an optional tour to Salzburg and its ‘Sound of Music’ sights (own expense).

Day 17. Regensburg.
Arrive in Regensburg, where a guided tour of the city’s architectural highlights includes the Old Town Hall and the Porta Pretoria – gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 AD. Alternatively, you can take an optional tour to Weltenburg Abbey (own expense). Tonight, folklore entertainers perform on board.

Day 18. Nuremberg.
Nuremberg played a pivotal role for the Nazi Party during World War II and acted as the symbolic host of the Nuremberg Trials. Today, visit a number of Nuremberg’s World War II sites on a guided tour.

Day 19. Bamberg.
Today visit Bamberg and take a tour of this enchanting town. Discover the serpentine streets, then enjoy time at leisure to shop or explore before continuing your cruise.

Day 20. Kitzingen, Wurzburg.
Arrive in Kitzingen and enjoy a walking tour through this pretty town. Then continue to Wurzburg and disembark for a tour. Alternatively, this afternoon you can also take an optional excursion to Rothenburg (own expense).

Day 21. Wertheim, Miltenberg.
Still in Germany, arrive in Wertheim. Disembark and enjoy time at leisure to look around, before you’ll board a coach and travel to Freudenberg, where you’ll rejoin the ship. During lunch, continue cruising to Miltenberg. On arrival, enjoy a tour of this lovely Franconian town.

Day 22. Rudesheim, Koblenz.
Today arrive in Rudesheim, where a mini-train will take you to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum for a tour. Later, cruise through the Rhine Gorge on perhaps the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine. Cruise past castles and castle ruins, as well as Lorelei Rock. After dinner this evening, perhaps take an evening stroll through Koblenz.

Day 23. Koblenz, Cologne.
Today cruise from Koblenz to Cologne and enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent city.

Day 24. Cologne, Amsterdam.
Arrive in Amsterdam and join a canal boat cruise in a glass-top boat. Admire 17th century homes, charming churches and 16th century merchant houses, then return to your ship for the Captain’s Gala Farewell Dinner this evening.

Day 25. Disembark Ship, Depart Amsterdam.
This morning following breakfast, you’ll disembark the ship and be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
