Tour Details - 8 Day Rhine River Cruise (Cruise Only) 2012

Day 1. Amsterdam
On arrival into Amsterdam, transfer to your river ship. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception.

Day 2. Amsterdam
This morning after breakfast, enjoy a tour of this pretty city. Then join a canal cruise and admire the city’s architecture as you cruise in a glass-top boat past 17th century homes, charming churches and 16th century merchant houses.

Day 3. Cologne
Attend the 2012 Floriade Horticultural Expo† in Venlo. Admire the spectacular displays, landscaped gardens and floral exhibitions. Then tour Cologne, including the city’s cathedral.

Day 4. Rüdesheim
This afternoon arrive in Rüdesheim. Visit a local vintner for a wine tasting before a trip to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Later, cruise through the Rhine Gorge, on what is known as the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine.

Day 5. Speyer, Heidelberg
In Speyer today, enjoy a brief sightseeing tour. Alternatively, head to Heidelberg. A city with a romantic character, admire Heidelberg Castle and the baroque-style Old Town.

Day 6. Strasbourg
Today arrive in Strasbourg, a beautiful historic city on the picturesque Ill River in Alsace, France. Enjoy a canal cruise and discover the sights of the city with a guided walking tour, including the World Heritage-listed ‘Petite France’ district.

Day 7. Breisach
Today, choose between two activities. Take a city tour of medieval Colmar, situated along the Alsatian Wine Route. Alternatively, travel to Sternen and see a Cuckoo Clock Demonstration and stop in Titisee to view the magnificent lake.

Day 8. Disembark Ship, Depart Basel
Your tour ends today when you arrive in Basel. Disembark your ship and be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
