Tour Details - 8 Day Icons Of The East Kimberley; (Mod) El Questro & Bellburn Standard 2012; (No Dbl)

Day 1. Kununurra, Day at Lesiure.
Arrive in Kununurra, the eastern gateway to the Kimberley. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town.

Day 2. Kununurra, Ord River Cruise
Join a guided cruise of the majestic Ord River. Enjoy stunning scenery and look out for the freshwater crocodiles, flying foxes, myriad birdlife and other wildlife that inhabits the area.

Day 3. Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park, Cathedral Gorge, Piccaninny Creek
Join a scenic flight to Purnululu National Park. En route fly over Lake Argyle and the Argyle Diamond Mine. On landing, journey by 4WD to the southern side of the Bungle Bungle massif. Here enjoy an easy walk into Cathedral Gorge. After a picnic lunch join a guided walk along the dry bed of Piccaninny Creek and inspect the domes up close. Your guide will bring the natural history of the Bungle Bungle domes to life. There is time for a scenic helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungle Range (own expense).

Day 4. Echidna Chasm, Mini Palms Gorge
After a homestyle breakfast take an easy hike along a Livistona palm-fringed trail into magical Echidna Chasm. With sunlight streaming down through narrow cracks in the towering rocks, this is an ideal opportunity for some spectacular photography. Then, after a picnic lunch, walk along an ancient river bed to pretty Mini Palms Gorge, where the afternoon sun creates a beautiful ethereal glow.

Day 5. Purnululu, El Questro Station
Early this morning we fly to El Questro Station and Wilderness Park in the heart of the Kimberley. One of the Kimberley’s unspoilt frontiers, El Questro encompasses a million acres. Perhaps hike into Emma Gorge for a swim under the towering droplet waterfall or soak in the thermal pools of Zebedee Springs, surrounded by lush ferns and palms (own expense).

Day 6. El Questro, Day at Leisure
Spend the day exploring the wonders of El Questro. Perhaps cruise through rugged Chamberlain Gorge or join a ranger-guided horse ride (own expense).

Day 7. El Questro, Mitchell Plateau, Full day to discover Falls
This morning board a scenic flight to the remote Mitchell Plateau. Join a local guide and walk to Little Merten Falls then continue through woodland to inspect ancient Aboriginal Gwion (Bradshaw) paintings. Take in breathtaking views as you travel to stunning Big Merten Falls. See the incredible spectacle of Mitchell Falls – the Mitchell River flowing over the plateau into the deep pools below. Enjoy a relaxing swim. After lunch you have a number of options – hike out of the falls or choose to take an optional helicopter flight over stunning Mitchell Falls or a longer scenic flight over the beautiful Kimberley coast (own expense).

Day 8. Fly to Kununurra
After breakfast board a scenic flight over the dramatic landscapes of the Kimberley to Kununurra. Please Note: Order of touring may vary. *Please note a 10kg luggage limit per person applies*
