Day 1: Darwin - Katherine Gorge

Your first stop is the cemetery dedicated to those killed in the air-raids in Darwin in the 1940’s. Continue to Edith Falls for a swim (conditions permitting). On arrival at Katherine Gorge you can relax and enjoy the surrounds with plenty of time to admire the scenery and wildlife. Or perhaps hire a canoe (own expense) and row the first gorge at your own pace. Later, depart on a sunset dinner cruise to discover the ways of the Jawoyn people against a magnificent backdrop of cliff faces changing colour with the setting sun. Experience the spectacular beauty of the gorge by candlelight while enjoying delicious Australian cuisine.

Day 2: Aboriginal Culture - Darwin

Your local guide will walk through nature’s pantry, identifying traditional foods of the Jawoyn people, climaxing with a swim at a waterhole or sandy beach along the Katherine River. Enjoy lunch before a brief tour of Katherine, the hub of the region’s farming industry. A stop is made for dinner (own expense) before returning to Darwin. L
